Language & Literacy
Alphabet Exploration
- Recognize uppercase first; introduce lowercase gradually.
- Link letters to common sounds (A/a, B/b, M/m, S/s...).
- Identify letters in child’s name; name writing begins with capitals.
Early Reading Readiness
- Concepts of print: front/back of book, left-to-right tracking.
- Picture walks: predict, identify characters/settings, retell main idea.
- Rhyming and alliteration through songs, chants, and simple poems.
Speaking & Listening
- Use full sentences to share needs, ideas, and stories.
- Follow 1–2 step directions (e.g., “Pick up blocks, put in bin”).
- Take turns in conversation; ask and answer simple questions.
Emergent Writing
- Progression: scribbles → letter-like forms → recognizable letters.
- Grip development: short crayons, fat markers, vertical surfaces.
- Name writing practice; label drawings with initial sounds.
Early Math
Number Sense
- Rote count to 10–20; count objects with one-to-one matching.
- Recognize numerals 0–10; connect numerals to quantities.
- Use math words: more, fewer, same, none.
Geometry & Shapes
- Identify circle, square, triangle, rectangle; introduce oval, star, heart.
- Sort by shape, color, size; real-world shape hunt.
- Compose simple pictures with basic shapes.
Patterns & Sequencing
- Create/extend AB and ABC patterns using blocks or beads.
- Sequence 3-step picture stories (“first/next/last”).
- Clap/tap body-movement patterns.
Measurement & Comparison
- Compare length, height, weight (longer/shorter, taller/shorter, heavier/lighter).
- Order 3 objects by size (small → medium → large).
- Use non-standard tools (cubes, paperclips) to “measure.”
Science & Nature
Five Senses
- Observe with see/hear/smell/taste/touch; practice safe choices.
- Sort items by sound, smell, or texture.
Living Things
- Plants/animals have needs: water, food, air, shelter, light.
- Simple life cycles (seed → sprout; caterpillar → butterfly).
Weather & Seasons
- Daily weather check; match clothing to weather.
- Discuss seasonal changes and outdoor safety.
Earth & Environment
- Care for our world: gentle with plants/bugs, pick up after play.
- Basic sort: trash vs. recycle in the classroom/home.
Social & Emotional
Emotional Awareness
- Name common feelings (happy, sad, mad, scared, excited).
- Try calming choices: deep breaths, quiet corner, ask for help.
Social Relationships
- Practice sharing, turn-taking, and gentle hands.
- Use kind words; apologize and repair after mistakes.
Self-Care & Independence
- Routines: hand-washing, toileting, snack clean-up.

Motor Skills
Gross Motor
- Hop, jump, balance, crawl, roll; simple obstacle paths.
- Throw/roll/catch with soft balls and beanbags.
Fine Motor
- Pinch, thread, squeeze, snip with safety scissors.
- Dough play, tweezers, pegboards, large beads.
Sensory Exploration
