Reading & Phonics

• Letter–sound mastery, phonemic awareness, decoding/encoding, high-frequency words.
• Fluency and comprehension routines: predict–read–retell–summarize.

Early Writing & Handwriting (Cursive Pathway)

• Sentence → paragraph growth; mechanics and simple revision.
• Print fluency → cursive strokes → full lowercase/uppercase and weekly cursive application.

Math Fluency

• Number sense, place value, operations within 10/20/100; mental strategies; fact fluency.
• Shapes/measurement/time/money basics; data with simple graphs.

Thinking Routines

• Observe–Wonder–Explain; compare/contrast; classify and pattern noticing.

Habits & Executive Function

• Routines, checklists, self-talk, attention stamina; build “start–work–finish–tidy” cycles.

Social–Emotional & Movement

• Feelings vocabulary, cooperation, turn-taking; daily movement for balance/coordination.

Sample Scope by Band

PreK–2

• Phonics sequence (CVC → blends/digraphs → long vowels); decodable reading; daily handwriting.
• Math: counting, making ten, addition/subtraction stories; time to hour/half-hour; coins.

Grades 3–5 (Strengthen & Bridge)

• Fluency to 120+ WPM with expression; paragraph writing with topic/support/closure; cursive fluency.
• Operations to multi-digit; fractions as numbers; area/perimeter; data/graphs.

Grades 6–8 (Catch-Up & Lift)

• Reading to learn (note-making, summaries); grammar tune-ups; typed compositions.
• Ratio/percent foundations; integer/decimal refresh; equation basics; math vocabulary.

Grades 9–12 (Skill Tune-Up)

• Evidence paragraphs, timed writes, research basics; cursive for exams if desired.
• Algebra refresh: linear, systems, quadratics basics; calculator literacy.

Weekly Rhythm (Example)

• Daily: read-aloud + decodable/leveled read, quick write/journal, 15-minute math fluency.
• 2×/week: science or social studies mini-lesson with notebooking.
• 1×/week: project/cooking/field walk to apply reading/math in life.

Portfolio & Evidence

• Reading logs, fluency checks, writing samples (print + cursive), math fact trackers, photos of projects.
